"O" for Outliers- update

Been three days I do not post a new blog post here. Been totally concentrated in reading Malcolm Gladwell's new book Outlier: The Story of Success.

It take the whole village to make an individual to excel is the theme of this book.

Lots of parameters or factors involve in the making of a genius which include the birth date, the culture of the country that you been brought up, the wealth status of your family etc.

We need not to be born genius but merely good or smart enough to learn and equip ourselves.

We need to work hard ourselves to equip ourselves, while we are waiting for the chance to outperform, and this lies the 10,000 hours theory.

We merely just need one chance to outperform, and when we get it, all that counts is what we do, rather than what we say (paraphrase from what Seth Godin has said).

This book indeed changes the paradigm of being success, which prior to this, lots of us, including me, might thought that success is all about ourselves, how much we committed blar blar blar. But yet, we always miss out one silent point and that is, are we been given chance to excel?

We are not who we are without the people who gave us the chance, so be greatful to them and respect them......
