When I was reading The 10,000-Hour Rule, the name of two British Got Talent contestants immediately flashed into my mind, Andrew Johnston and Susan Boyle.
Andrew Johnston, aged 14 years old when he joint British Got Talent 2008, sang Pie Jesu by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. This year, Susan Boyle, who sang I Dreamed A Dream in British Got Talent 2009 at the age of 47. Andrew starts singing at the age of 6 years old as his unique way to overcome bully by his pals. One the other hand, Susan Boyle starts singing at her very age, around 25 years old.
Though I am not sure exactly how many hours have Andrew Johnston and Susan Boyle sing before they outperformed during the audition, but I guess, they come close to 10,000 hours.
Now, I had finished reading Part One: Opportunity of the book, and I think the rule of thumb to excel is Work hard to equip ourselves; while work smart to discover the opportunity to leave a legacy......
