made sure that you are indispensable......

A week ago, had a small discussion with my colleague from Singapore over the lunch.

He asked me, "What will you do in order to climb the cooperate's ladder?"

To his surprise, my answer is, "That is not in my To-Do list at the moment.  At the moment, all I wish to do is to do my best to perform well at my current position." " And also to improve......And to lead from my current position", I continued.

And he said, "At least, you need to ensure that you are indispensable......"

Totally agree, to be indispensable.  The moment he mentioned about indispensable, I remembered the book I have finished reading last month Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? from Seth Godin.


However, suddenly I realized that besides the word "Indispensable" I hardly can recall anything else from the book.  This surprises me, as this never happens to me.  I always can recall of what I have read, even after a few months or even years.

Perhaps, I should re-read the book again.
